This is a great shoot maybe the best in the North bring all your friends if you miss this one you will miss a good one .
Long drive for some smoked Mac & cheese but it sounds delish
Really hoping to make it.
I have been to many shoots across the country. No other shoots put as much effort into setting up there courses then the Rapids club. Each loop is unique.
Favorite shoot of the year, great setup. Looking forward to it once again.
im going to go with friends !!! any idea about the poison ivy ? the food sounds great
I've shot it many many times, and it is definitely the premiere 3d shoot of the summer. Can't make it this year with regrets but if you go you will have a great time.

We still have some poisen ivy around our course, but our club volunteers have really got it knocked back from what it was years ago. That and we intensively control for it on the loops. You will see some, but it should be easily avoided.
Thanks for the all the endorsements fellas! We are looking forward to another great shoot!
We are having a trade blanket Saturday from 11-1. Typical trade blanket rules, you can come and go with your trad archery wares as you please, must be present with your stuff, space is first come first serve, etc...you all know the etiquette.
Here is the link to our clubs website with additional information: https://www.rapidsarchery.net/traditional-shoot-information Checkout the schedule of events for the weekend under the program link. We have a lot going on. Let me know if your have any questions.
How is the highway construction this year? That always seems to be the biggest issue in getting to the shoot.

There will be some construction. The ramp from 35W South on to 94 West will be closed. It can be avoided pretty easy through. Message me if you need help with alternative routes.
thanks for the extra info on poison ivy and road construction
A great shoot, my favourite of the year. I've been enjoying this shoot since the beginning. My son started going with me oin his early teens and he will be turning 35 in August!
It's become a Fathers Day tradition for us and for my hunting buddy and his son as well.

I'll be there, only missed 2 since it started, 1 for a Bear hunt and last year due to an infection. Always a great shoot!
The wife and i will be there with another couple, this will be our first time, usually go to Comptoms, heard good things about this shoot, so thought we would switch it up this year and join you folks.
any chance that we could shoot on fri also, we have reservations at a campground for fri and sat, but are considering coming on thur, if we can get the campsite an extra day, that is if we have something to do.
The three 3D courses aren't set up until Friday so the answer to your question is not possible. Rapids Archery property is owned by the County but all the 3-D targets, target stands, labor, laborers and $$$ is purchased and done by the members of Rapids Archery Club.

Hi Mooshkat, like Caboo said, the courses are not open to the public until Saturday.
I see you're coming from Oconto...I grew up in Gillett. My parents still live there. Hope to get a chance to meet you. I should be in the Clubhouse most of Saturday morning, ask for Brent.
I will be there for the first time with friends Russ, Bruce, Joe, and hopefully rafael.
Sweet! Looking forward to sharing the weekend with you and your crew!
Carol a I are leaving on Thursday we spend a day doing garage sales in the area . Its a great weekend always nice weather with lots of fun . I have only missed the first one so with that many years we have met lots of new friends. Come to our booth and say hello !!!....Tim
Awesome, glad to hear you will be at the shoot with those beautiful bows!
Good luck with the garage sales, hope you find some huge bargains.
How does camping work? Tent camping is what I was thinking Friday night.
We have free primitive camping in a special event camping area right on-site.First come first serve and it opens Friday at 1:00. Historically, there is plenty of space. There is also a campground very nearby if you prefer a more established facility. Here is the link for that campground:

Hope you can make it Gator1. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I can email or message you my phone number if you want to talk about anything on the phone.

My 13 year old daughter and I will be there. Both bringing our 1957 kodiak.
They have limited camping on sight or there is the Bunker Hills camp grounds, very nice . The only down side to tent camping is the whooper wills they drove me crazing all night !! We don't have them here in ND . Im looking forward to this weekend !
Dont bother looking at the campground, its all booked
The bunker Hills Campground is full?!?! Darn-it!
If this is a concern to anyone please message or email me and we can come up with a solution.
I don't want anyone to not come out of concern for finding a place to camp.
The shoot is just a few days away...I am getting excited!
The campground is typically full this weekend every year. I alway camp on site and there is always extra space available. No water or electricity of course.
the shoot was great we really enjoyed it . the 84 yr old I was with found the bear bait hole on the mn loop we covered it back up hope no one else found it . and again it was great those elk targets were wow. should be there next year. I got to shoot a kota longbow very nice.
I missed the shoot, first time since 1996. Had family commitments out of state. Hope you all had great weather and a great time! I'll have to hear the after shoot stories as our summer outdoor leagues progress.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who made it to the shoot last weekend.
Besides some rain and poor service from our outside food vendor Saturday, it was a great weekend.
We are already planning for next year. Put it on your calendars. Always fathers day weekend.
