The full length feature film "Chasing Solitude - Passions of a Solo Moose Hunter," is NOW AVAILABLE on Blu-ray disc (full HD) or Standard DVD. Running time 107 minutes. This was a self-funded film project with no paid sponsors or paid endorsements. However, you may notice items or gear that I use during a hunt. I have also been on the Sitka Gear Pro-staff / Athlete since 2007. So, I really do appreciate all of the interest and support and I received from you all over the years. You can order on-line at my website Herd Bull Productions site store. I hope you enjoy the film. Thank you so much, Mike

My son Tim, who edited this film, created another trailer for it that plays a bit slower and lets the scenes develop a few seconds longer. Check it out on Youtube.

Just ordered my copy, can't wait!
I ordered one too. Looks like it will be a good one.
I have a copy on the way too.
I can't wait to get mine!! :clapper:
Keep in mind that the Blu-ray disc should play as a high definition video, as it was originally recorded, in an X-Box and some PlayStaion units , which may increase your viewing pleasure. Mike
Just got through ordering mine can't wait

Just placed my order as well. Really looking forward to it Mike.
Ordered mine last night! Can't wait!
Ordered mine yesterday! Cant wait.
This looks wonderful. Is having it available for purchase on a digital format a realistic possibility? My DVD player is broken and I have no plans to replace it. Everything is on demand these day...except hunting videos!
Thanks
Tedd
Mike, this is just so impressive. I feel like a hunt like this is out of reach for many. And maybe it's because we just don't know how and where to even begin? I'd like to hear some of the details and logistics on how you manage to go on these awsome hunts! I was showing the trailer to my wife and realizing at the same time that the average guy would struggle putting this together. Even if a person was able to put it all together...how does a hunter manage to plunk down in prime moose country? How is a person educated on this. What kind of contacts does a person need? How are you getting tags? It just seems like the planning would be a massive undertaking.
I'm sure cost is an issue and time away from home is a sacrifice. I would think it's a retirement hunt for me. Someday I would like to see if I could handle making a shot on a beast like that.

Tedd, I am working on a download version, but have to compress the 107 minute HD film to fit most formats. I do not want to lose that much resolution. A lot of the downloads are expected to get almost free. Anyway I'm working on it. For a little more information, I have free reading on the "Journal" section of my website. I also have links to 2 two-hour podcast on my website that will help answer many questions you may have regarding hunt planning and hunting techniques I use on moose. The next issue of Traditional Bowhunter Magazine will publish my latest solo moose hunting article, which will also make this video more entertaining and enjoyable. I will also give a seminar called "The Solo Spirit" at the next Trad Bowhunter Expo in Kalamazoo, MI in January 2019.
Like hunting mature bucks, its easier to pass up nice bucks after you have taken a few mature one... so hunting Alaska may get easier once you've gone once. I really do appreciate all of the interest and support. Putting this latest film together with son Tim who edited it was exhausting! Mike

I watched this video (it's really more than that) last evening. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I won't reveal what you'll see. Maybe suffice to say it's stunning on Blu-ray in HD. Inspirational stuff. Whoever watches this movie is in for a real treat.
Thanks Mike!
Just ordered a copy. Can't wait to watch it.
Mine arrived today! Very fast on the shipping Mike!! Thanks. The boys and I are excited to watch it tonight.

My copy made it today. It's awesome. The scenery alone is worth the price, let alone the traditional bowhunting of moose. Great production Mike, thanks for taking us along.
Wonderful film Mike.
Watching mine Now got the BluRay! :clapper:
My wife ordered a opt for us last night. Can't wait.
Murray
Ordered mine Friday and it was in the mailbox Monday. Now that's what I call service... Can't wait to sit down and watch this one.
Watched mine Saturday night. Excellent job. If you dream of hunting moose in Alaska you should have this Dvd for reference. It literally puts you in camp with Mike. Fantastic big bull footage of moose being moose as well.
I have been a longtime fan of Mikes work, I can remember watching Primal Dreams for the first time and was blown away with the scenery and wildlife he videoed. This new DVD doesn't fall short of same passion and quality he put in his first two. It was a perfect ending to a very long day at work to pop the dvd in sit back and get taken on my first moose hunt. Mike makes you feel like you are part of the hunt. Watching this movie you can see that Mike has a great heart felt passion for the moose and respect for the hunt. This will be played over and over in the shop along with the others he had made.
Mike thank you so much for putting all that work into making the dvd and allowing us into your world.
As it played last night in the living room I couldn't tell you how many times the wife and my kids stop at the scenery displayed. My sons are 7 and 8 and have the attention span of 4 month puppy so to get them to stop in there tracks and take a min to look at the moose walking by or the mountains in the misty fog was impressive. I cant get them to slow down for anything other then ice cream or candy!
Don't hesitate with this purchase you will not be disappointed
Watched it last night and this morning!
Great DVD!
Awesome scenery shots!
Just finished watching. Great video! Really enjoyed it! Well done!
Really good video Mike! i watched a portion last night. Having backpacked and fly fished in the Chugach mtns, this brought back some good memories. Especially walking on muskeg and the gravel bars etc.
thanks for all the work this must have been.
Gary
Mike,
I just want to say how much I appreciate the extra things you sent .I just got it in the mail today about 1:30 and already watched the entire movie and enjoyed every bit of it from beginning to end.
This is one of the most family friendly videos I ever have seen and great footage of God's creation .
You did a great job once again and a"Thank You" from Ande,Kaci ,Darci and their old man Keefer's! :archer:
Great film! Really good job sir and I love that it is blue ray. :clapper:
We got ours on Thursday and watched it Friday. Most Excellent!
Murray
Great video. Watching it for the third time already. Would have loved to see a set of those antlers strapped to the Cub. Do you have a pic of antlers on the fly out?
I'm sorry, but I don't think I have any pics of antlers on the struts. I do have these images of antlers that were not seen in the movie. Thank you all for your interest. Mike

Mike: got my video. Wow!!!! You done an amazing job. My entire family sit and watched the entire film. My wife and 5 year old daughter and 9 year old son loved every minute of it. :clapper:
If you want to read about the last hunt in the film, please check out the Aug/Sept 2018 issue of Traditional Bowhunter Magazine. The article is titled "Tested in Alaska." If you want to check out the film, I will be at ETAR in Denton Hill, PA with Barry Wensel. Please stop by and say hello. Mike
I picked up my copy at Compton a couple of weeks ago. This is a great video project and very enjoyable to watch! I grew up in interior AK and know well the type of country in the movie. Mike captured the essence of it very well, and for all those thinking of purchasing it, go for it! You won't be disappointed.
Mike, I already got my new TBM and your article was the first one I read. I got two of the DVDs at Comptons and you signed one for me and one for my son. The video is so refreshing in how you treat the game with such respect and have such reverence for God's great creation, and while there is footage of processing the meat, there is nothing in the video that a person would feel uncomfortable viewing with wife and kids. My granddaughters greatly enjoyed it. A big thanks for such a quality product.
Mike will the dvd be available at Denton. Thanks Dan
Yes I will my Chasing Solitude film available at Denton Hill in both DVD and Blu-ray. Look for me in the Brothers of the Bow booth with Barry. He has is new video out about his 50 years of bowhunting memories, and will have them at Denton Hill as well. Thanks, Mike
Just put my order through, and am looking forward to its arrival. My wife watched the trailer with me, and loved the scenery, I am looking forward to watching it in its entirety. Thanks so much!!!!
Jason
I give it a 10  and the scenery is just plain "AWESOME" Mike!
Thank you for taking us on the adventure's and continue to carry that camera with you.
I was telling my dental hygienist about 6 months about your book and a few weeks ago I saw her for my 6 month check up and she said "I bought Mike's book" ...
I thought that was great cause she loves the outdoors and hunting story's but I was just telling her of "ALL" the nice things Mike has written to my three daughters in the books and photo's you sent us and how much that means to us Mike. We appreciate your kindness Mike and God continue to Bless you in your life and hunts.
Keefer's <')))><
Mike,
I look forward to buying one of your New Moose DVD's at Denton Hill. P.S. Uncle barry is goona ask that you refrain from spitting chew on the floor of cabin at Denton !!! TP
Tom- I'm surprised Uncle Barry hasn't requested plastic sheets for my bed! Ha Ha
Keefer and others - Thank you for the kind words. Mike
Fantastic Mike. This Primal Dreams and the crooked hat chronicle should be required watching for all outdoor video producers, editors, videographers and hunters, before they are allowd to show any videos.
Just finished this morning. As expected, great video!!
Just ordered it, I loved your book and primal dreams dvd , I'm really looking forward to the dvd .
