When referring to long bow types, what does ASL indicate? Thanks

I believe it stands for American Semi-Longbow. If that's wrong hopefully someone who knows will chime in.

ASL's are typically straight limbed, and often have straight handles, although some variation is allowed in the handle design.  I would say they are the Harley's of traditional bows.  Here is a typical example:

I reckon Hill style was just catchy😀 if I shot like him there coulda been a Possum style☹️
