In bare shafting at 15&20 yards,, 175 grains is showing stiff (2-3 inches) for my 45# kodiak hunter. Would 200 grain point be totally too much??
25 grains makes surprisingly little difference. Try it and see. 200 grain points are cheap.
What length are your shafts cut at
shafts are 29 inches
That seems really weak. I shot 1916 with a 145gr cut at 28" they tuned perfect for me when i was retraining my shoulder with a 35#. about 30# at my draw of 26.
I too would think with 200gr up front that would be weak not stiff. Do you have a very short draw by chance?
My advice would be to consider moving down a spine size like 1816s or something around .700 spine. Going w a 200 tip will put you above 10gpp. A lighter spine would allow you to develop a more balanced arrow between 8-10 gpp. If your bow is telling you 1916s are too weak, listen to it.
Agree, 1916 is too stiff. 1816 will give you much more flexibility and a more balanced arrow.
