Seen a post on Facebook from Toelke Archery, they have a new model they will unveil soon. Has the hashtag #longdrawhunter
I have a long draw, and have become quite the Toelke fanboy these days, can't wait to hear more about it, what they posted about it was pretty much just a teaser, couple photos and that they would have all the info out in a week or so.
Any gossip worth repeating about it out there?

Hmmm, probably too short for me still, but I'll stay tuned for sure, thanks for reply!
It's not a 58" Pika, you can bank on that. I've seen the prototype photos and discussed the particulars with Jared. I won't usurp the surprise and official debut, but long draws will be pleased!

David,
How long is your draw?
31" only thing I can shoot from Dan is 64" SS and 66" Longbow models.
David, I think you will be pleased. Won't be long now.
:campfire:
We need to know more about that bow!
Cool...longdraw bow. :clapper: :clapper:

Rumor is 58" Pika...
I have an email from Dan stating this when I inquired about the capabilities of draw on my 56" model. I am just now hopping on the Toelke train, but I have shot a Super D, a Whip HS, Pika, Lynx, and Chinook and none of them had a single problem I could identify on the shot.
Been trying to convert you to toelke for 2 years Daniel, What took you so long? lol
....money... :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
I wouldn't mind having a few more. You've got me looking for a lynx.
I'll be in Ronan next week, I might have to stop by the shop and have a chat with them on this. I'm a 31" draw as well, so it should be something up my alley.

Aaaaaand????? DrumRoll please......................
A 58" and 60" version of the Pika, called the Whistler.

Well lets hope that means a pile of the 56" end up for sale used at give away prices! lol
Like what Mike said about a longer Pika but I believe they are using different tapers. The tapers are similar if not the same as the Whips. So, Pika riser and R/D but with Whip tapers. I might be incorrect on part of that but I think that's what the Whistler is. The difference in tapers from the Pika allow it to open up smoother at the longer draws.
Just saw this on Toelke's FB Page.......
The whistler is a stretched version of our Pika, offered in 58" & 60" lengths. The 58" being a recommended to 30.5"draw and the 60" to 32"!! Boasting smooth draw, no vibration & high performance, along with forgiveness not found in many short bows.
I have a 29 inch draw, and I have no troubles with my 56" " Pika " it's just as smooth and quiet and vibration free as can be. It's been the best shooting bow I've ever had
DS
I'm a 31" draw, but I don't have any interest in a short bow, primarily for string angle and finger pinch. I'm sure they'll sell a ton of them, just not up my alley.

So a long Pika after all, sweet.
So, it must be close to a 60" Whip
Just e-mailed Dan about comparison of 62 Whip and the 58 Whistler. Can't shoot a 60 Whip, finger pinch, but we'll see what he says.
UPDATE:
Guess I'll find out for myself, he's sending a bow in two weeks. Dang, those guys are awesome!!

Sweet! I'm probably going to call him tomorrow or the next day about a 60"!
I'm still waiting on all the 56" Pika T/Ds to show up in the classifieds...haha

I just sent a money order off for a one piece 56" for the wife!
Looks like you're Golden for a 60". :biglaugh:
Couldn't stand it anymore, I ordered one! I'm normally not like that, I normally wait patiently for a used one. The piece of wood on the left is mine. Mango
 Good choice on wood, was looking at same piece myself.
Silly question , if I ordered a 56 " Pika @26" 40 # would i be able to draw past that 26" or would it "stack " ? I think I have a longer draw than 26" but that may depend on other variables such as d/r vs straight limbs, recurve grip vs straight.
I'd hate to make a 1000 dollar mistake. Wish I could get a hold of a loaner from
Dan as he said he only would build and send to me.
Beautiful bow and looks very functional but beauty is only skin deep.
Thanks

56" is good to almost 30" draw, but will gain about 3# for every inch past what it's rated. Now that's a general guideline, you should call Dan and discuss it.
I have and all I need is to try one out.The optics of the bow are very enticing
and I have heard not one bad thing about these bows..but still I need to try one.
Mine will be takedown and phenolic .The poundage will be light ( 35#) .
I shoot stumps , 3D and target. I might try small game ( squirrel rabbit etc). but mostly stumps .

You'll love it and if you pull it past the 35@26 with an appropriate arrow, you can take bigger animals than what you listed. I actually just bought my wife a used 56" 35#@28" and it was actually a little faster than her 35@28" A&-H. It sent a better than 10gpp arrow a little over 160fps!
Hey guys, I ordered my 60" Whistler, 40# from Dan, yesterday.
I wadded up another motorcycle and busted up my right shoulder, so my draw weight has to go down. I race flat track and motocross as an amateur.
I have 7 Toelke bows, 3 of which are a matching set. In 2016 Dan made me a 56" Pika, 60" Chinook, and a 66" Whip. All around 45#.
I am sending him all 3 of my 45# bows, he is going to bring down the draw weight to 40 lb. and build the new Whistler to 40#, and match the Whistler using using same XX Exhibition Grade Burl Cocobolo Riser and Mango Limb facing.
Also, I prefer a clear, shiny, finish to show off the wood on the limb faces, so I asked Dan to refinish all 3 bows so that all 4 bow's have a high finish.
Not hunting these bows anymore, so reflection isn't a concern.
Sending the bows to Dan tomorrow, as soon as I get a 6' piece of Sonotube to send the bows.
Just thought I would let you guys know about my recent dealings with Mr. Dan.
Please, remember those who have helped keep Democracy alive in the USA.

Whistler's are starting to roll out the door! Mines being shaped next week, can't wait. They have one in their stock bows now.
