I asked myself, "What's wrong with trying to connect with ancient man?" Bowhunting takes us back to a historic time in man's existence. The purity of human predator versus prey is no better exemplified than on a solo bowhunt in Alaska's remote wilderness. The moose knows its role as prey, and I knew mine as predator. Lacking fangs and claws, I intended to let my bow and arrows do the bloodletting should I get close enough. Mike

Ready for this to be available Mike! When can we expect it?
As a sponsor of TradGang, Mike can and should advertise. I am waiting not so patiently for the DVD to come out so I can get a copy.
I love moose hunting in Alaska and really want to glean the fine points of Mike's hunts.
Mike
Got it....didn't realize this was from advertiser who supports the site. A-ok. Just a reaction from getting banged with marketing 24/7 coming from every direction.
So sorry KodaChuck, I was one page short on my link. I was trying to post an article about Alaska that sits on my site. I think it will take you there now. Mike
WingNut and others are referring to my upcoming video about my solo moose hunts in Alaska. Just an update - we went to production on Wednesday so it will be three or four weeks I'm guessing. My plan is to offer the full film standard high resolution DVD and in Blu-Ray. Thank you for your interest. Mike
No problem, Koda.
I removed that one post..
I love to share my experiences, but not necessarily successes. You will find this to be true of my book, where many chapters describe hunt adventures where no game was taken. I hope you will also find this to be the case for the upcoming Chasing Solitude DVD.
People who know me, know how excited and ramped-up I can get on hunts. This might serve me well to get into range of my prey, but it can most certainly be a detriment when it's time to control the shot. I'm always checking out Tradgang for help in that regard. Mike

Beautiful photo Mike... Would love to add this dvd to my collection. This was an amazing hunt for sure!

Thanks for sharing that great adventure! I have been in the Chugach Mtns a few times. Once backpacking in with my brother, and once flying in to a remote lake with my departed father.
So, it brought back some great memories. On the backpacking trip, we got caught in higher elevations in snow. When we came out, we virtually skied or more accurately slid down a mountaint trail. Just guessing a thousand feet or so.
When we reached the bottom we were in rain. What a great memory. But never hunted it.
Anyway, thanks again Mike. I look forward to purchasing the video.
Gary

All you have to do is look under his name and it says sponsor
Mike,
I'm looking forward to the Video.
I talked with my pilot this morning and finalized our AK flight plans.
Hey Mike....I don't get on here much anymore, but want to add my name to the list of those who enjoy your productions. You have that unique perspective of appreciating both; the intensity of the hunt as well as the need to be alone and self-reliant. There aren't many guys like you, and that's why I really connect with what you have to relate about your hunts. I always appreciate your ability to communicate the things I find important on a wilderness hunt. I'll be looking forward to the release of this video.
Good luck to all those who are heading north for their own dose of wilderness medicine this fall. I'll be up there giving it my all.

I'm sure this will be awesome, , waiting :wavey:
I am not sure when the DVD and Blu-Ray will be available. I plan to launch them as soon as ready, but in the mean time I rented a local theater in Antioch , Illinois if anyone wants to view this film with like-minded folks on the big screen. I am calling it a premier theater showing, but the disc versions may very well be out before then. I have attached a link to get your tickets in advance with one complimentary drink and popcorn. Thank you all for your interest. Mike
