Most of you know, I'm a Schafer Silvertip Nut. In 2011, I had a Custom Silvertip longbow made by Dave Windauer. It's got camo from my Dad's hunting pants from the early 60's. It has Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep overlays, and it was named, "The Sneaky Bastid".. a name my Dad used to call me, when I would stalk up on Bucks while tracking them down in the Adirondack Mountains near home.
I fell on hard times for a brief period a few years ago and had to sell a few of my prized possessions. Ol Sneaky was one of them.
Fast forward several years, I had followed the bows' journey from State to state, Bowhunter to Bowhunter. With help from several of my Trad Brothers on this site(you know who you are).. Sneaky made it from New York to New Jersey, to Kentucky, To Indiana, To Wisconsin, Finally ending up in Idaho. After several Emails and phone calls, I located the proud owner of my once owned, "Sneaky Bastid". His name is Marc Hanselman, aka ProAlpine, a Professional Outfitter from Idaho. After nearly a year of negotiating, (pleading on my part), Marc agreed to get Sneaky back in my hands. He fell in love with the bow, but knew I had a deep sentimental attachment to the camo limbed Schafer.
I layed my hands on it today, and I had a tear in my eye as I assembled the limbs with the bronze burrs. Strung it up and let a few fly. Within inches of the bull on the first few shots.
Wanted to thank everyone involved in helping me get a one of a kind bow tracked down, and especially to ProAlpine, for making it a reality.
Welcome back, Sneaky Bastid, let's make some hunting memories, like Ol Pop would have wanted.[attachment=1,msg2792450][attachment=2,msg2792450][attachment=3,msg2792450]

Scott, I'm glad it arrived safely and she's back in your hands! I'll miss her dearly but hopefully I can build a bow of my own creation to fill her absence. If you ever think about selling, again, I hope that I'm the first you call!
Cheers, Marc
Marc without you this wouldn't have been possible. I am forever grateful. Told the Wife last nite that this will probably be the one that gets tucked right along side me in my pine box. :scared:
