should be popping down south...?
Chance of snow tomorrow night in Kentucky, but it won't be long now.
A high school friend from back home in SE Ok had 35 he found in roughly an hour. Had it posted on the Face Space.
About 2-3 weeks before they start in my part of ohio.
I heard a relative found one down by springfield mo.
Be a while before we see any...........
A buddy of mine sent me this last Sunday. His son's girlfriend found 111 that day. It was cold, windy, and just a generally nasty day. Go figure?

Great find Darren. Not ready here yet[attachment=1]
Moderators please remember this thread is okay because people gather these mushrooms while they're actually shed hunting and turkey hunting and is a commemorative to the lake Dean torches who started these threads years ago thanks
It will be about May 20th in my favorite spot.Prime bear hunting time too.
Maybe later this week here. Right now it's 27 and snowing though.
somebody has to be finding some, :dunno:
I went turkey hunting last weekend but got distracted

that's a good bunch , Dan.
Best bunch I've found in many years. I lost interest in turkeys really fast especially when they weren't talking. 2 trips I've found 110 morels
Dang Danny - that is a good bunch! How ya been?

Hogs get them too quick!!!!!
A buddy of mine found some yellows yesterday and today I found some half free
My Michigan turkey season opens Monday, May 6 and ends May31. I always carry along a bag for morels. When I'm not focused on gobblers, I'm focused on the forest floor. Hope I trip over a few.
I am SOOOO ready!
Found my first mushroom of the year. Unfortunately it stayed in the woods :readit:[attachment=1]
Didn't find any morels while turkey hunting in SW Michigan the last 2 days. Moving to new turf today, so maybe I'll trip over a few. Sure hope so!

Good luck 1 arrow both on the Turks and shrooms. Getting some precip today which will help but temps are a tad cool yet. May be able to find a few early Grays
Seems to be done here. All my spots are are picked and I don't see many more popping up.
Answer me this...How can a beautiful, plump shroom shrink down to a fraction of its original size after drying?
Kinda reminds me of me after I was in the pool.

There's a joke there somewhere . . . but I'm not going there . . . :saywhat:
I've found enough for a couple of meals, but in researching them the ground temp has to be above 58 degrees before they really pop. Ours is still barely over 50 in NE IA.

Wow, are they late this year.
Memorial Day find. Usually don't find any past Mother's Day here.
Seem done here as well. Haven't found any on a while and I've been looking. Found other edible mushrooms and plants though so it hasn't been a waste
those are some nice big ones,

Found this one in my in-laws garden this weekend up in Syracuse. Found two others just like it too. I know where I will be hunting for them next Spring.

Scouting for deer. Seeing a less than week old fawn and mama, finding and cooking morels and venison Swiss steak with morels . Nothing better
