I've been hard after turkey's since the beginning of April, and I finally filled my tag 4-22-12!
I called two jakes to 4 yard, and shoot at my first opportunity. The 2 jakes take off side by side after the shot, and the one I shot at fell within 20 yards. Then the other one started to fly and my arrow was in him! So I not only got my first turkey with my bow, but my second turkey in one shot!
Here's the one I was meaning to shoot-

Congrats on the Double, if that would happen here in Illinois ,and the Game Warden was around one would be in big trouble. :bigsmyl:
fantastic, there can't be too many of more stories like that!
Thanks guys! It's one I won't soon forget that's for sure!
tradbower- In the unit I live it's only a one bird limit. So I called the Game Warden and told him what happened. He came out and took the bird to a needy family. He appreciated I turned it in and knows accidents do happen, so he didn't give me a ticket.
Really cool, congrats on the double.
But 71 @ 28 & accurate :scared:
wish I had your strength, go find some mountain lions, the turkeys don't stand a chance.
That is very cool. Great looking birds.
Awesome! Way to go sir!
Ive heard of doubles with shotguns, but never with a Silvertip! Congrats!
Congrats, that's great. God bless.
Two for one deals! That's good stuff right there.
Those are pretty birds. Two for one? More like 1 in a million!
Kudos to you on being a stand-up guy with the game warden, you get to eat a bird and some other family will also get that privilege due to your efforts!
How great is that!
Save that arrow!
