I damaged the tip on my 67 Kodiak Hunter last summer and I'm wondering if it is safe to shoot?
Thanks (http://%20 [/IMG]
It's past your string grooves. I'm not an expert on glass bows but I don't think that will be a problem.
You're fine. There's no stress on that area.
I did something similar on one of my bows. Strung it up, but the string must not have been completely in the string groves. I leaned it against the wall while I grabbed my shooting glove. Then it just sprung!!! Jumped off the floor, hit the ceiling and scared the crap out of me. In the end, I only had damage similar to what you have. The bow has held up well for several years after.
