Hi all, I'm new to the board!
I've made wooden bows and boo backed bow to date, but I'm a big fan of the Bear bows too. So, I decided I try to make an FGlass Super Kodiak like bow. Unfortunately I haven't seen that bow in life. I've made a drawing what I'd like to do

I'm ambiguous about tha stack hight and the limb taper.
I've got a Besr Grizzly bow, it has 0,217" stack high and no taper in in the linbs. Or do i use the Bighams's chart;
How much stack hight and taper do you recommend for a 45-50 ponder bow?
Thanks in advance,
Ferenc

Not a user name that will inspire others to help you!!
In English "fece" is the word for human waste. NOT a polite word. I suggest you re-register under your real human name rather than playing games.
Uhhhh Ken, I didn't know that. Thank you! I'm so sorry. My name is "Ferenc" that is my nick name. I'd like ask the admin to delete this topic. (It's a shame)
unless you are dyslexic, Ken I can't see how 'ferenc' becomes 'feces' He shouldn't have to alter his user name at all.
x2
The name looks fine to me.
Can't see your drawing for lack of a yahoo acct.
Hi Mates,
First of all, I must say Ken isn't dyslexic. My christ name is 'Ferenc' and my nick name or short name is 'fece' here in Hungary. Ken was kindly enought and causoned me that it is an 'interesting' word in English. Therefore I asked the Admin and he changed my name in this forum.
About the bow. Here are the link, I hope it works.

I forgot to mention the bow limbs are paralel in front view and 40mm (~1,5") wide.

My friend has a SK that has started to delaminate in the phenolic riser and at the end of the riser fades. The lacquer is also cracking right off the riser. To me the design bends too hard off the fades. a 0.001 taper would be enough to move some of that concentrated stress.
As for stack height then unless somebody has got one handy to measure it is a bit of a guess for your first one then you can adjust from there on the next one.
this is a "Build your own bow" 60 Recurve take down

The measurement are spot on for this one.
I modified mine to a one piece

What do you think about the 'super tiller'? I downloaded it years ago but i've never used it. It seens to me a little bit complicated. Never mind, I'll give it a go.
