I generally use .040 glass. Would there be any advantage to thicker glass. Pros or cons.
Shouldn't really matter as long as you maintain the total stack thickness by reducing one or more wood lams. If you're making really tight recurves like I do, I use .030 glass to make the tight bends with less stress.

I have re-limbed a number of classic recurves and they all come in heavy using .040 glass and the original stack thickness, then I find that the factory glass was .030. Thicker glass will always produce a heavier bow using the same stack thickness.
