Hey guys, I just got in plans for the binghams 58inch recurve form. It says im gonna need to glue a taper strip between the fromica and the form according to the blue print.
Can you guys enlighten me a little more about the purpose and necessity of this?
Thanks,
Ty
I'm not sure of the reason but I've made that form and used it no problems without the reverse taper.
to use a taper lam in front of the riser in the stack
the reverse taper [on the form] allows a proper fit between the riser/taper lam and form
it also allows you to grind the riser to a nice tight fit to the form--and then use a taper in the stack in front of the riser----
^^ Yep, that way the riser can be straight and the reverse taper on form helps the taper under riser fit nicely with good glue lines...
