Title: Ash Snake bow (MoJam)
Post by: Mad Max on August 12, 2015, 06:20:00 PM
68" ntn 44#@28"
I got a half log at MoJam 3 years ago and made a bow with it.
I did not turn out very good.
I don't know what kind of ash it is, but not very good ash. not what they make baseball bat's with for sure.
Anyway
So this one I let dry Inside my house for a long time, I made it 2 1/2" wide at the fades and 3/16"+ at the nocks. I did a slow heat treat like Marc St. Louis a year ago and sealed it
My taxidermist gave me a 6' long Timber rattler skin with head and tail because the scales were coming off. 16 Rattles
I work on and off on it until a few weeks before 2015 MoJam

after 80  shots it still has reflex in it.
Time will tell

that is one nice bow! Right limb appears to have slightly more curve to it but I'm not a woodie.
