Post by: BHTGdogs on August 01, 2015, 04:10:00 PM
It's glass backed. I need to remove the clear coat what's the best way to do this? Also what's the best finish? I don't want it shiny but somewhat dull this is a hunting bow.

If you are only doing one or a few then get a good rattle can finish such as Spar urethane and follow the derections. Depending on your riser wood you may want to seal it with Ca glue to seal the oils in that the poly will not stick to. 220 grit paper should be your final grit. Be sure you remove the shiny gel coat from the galass.
