Just finished this one up for a boy scout auction in Indiana. It's Hackberry dyed with some dark stain. 64 ntn and 45@28. Tips are cocabolo and counter top sample.

Thanks for looking.
Dave
"counter top sample" - Neat. I would have never thought of using something like that for limb tips.
Looks great!
Nice. I wish that was in my personal inventory. Looks good.
Sweet bow! :notworthy:
Looks great. Good idea on the tips. Very unique. Is that Corian or something?
That looks really nice. Did you split out the stave? Had a big hackberry log and tried to split it to no avail. Way worse than the biggest osage log I ever attacked.
That thing is sweet! Thanks for sharing.
Sweet bow.
That looks very neat!
Thanks guys!
John. I think that's what it is. I have a few if you want to try some I'll send ya some.
Fletcher yep. I got the tree from a neighbor and split it green. Nothing 6 wedges couldn't tackle. By the way, did you notice the arrow in the pic? Look familiar?
Yes I did, David. I have some that look just like it. If I get another log I'll try it again. The one I had was about 15-16". Cut a notch with the saw, stick a wedge in and hit it with the sledge and the wedge would just jump out. I beat on that thing for two days and finally turned it into firewood. It is a very tough wood. I split most of it with a gas splitter, it was like splitting rope.
I wish I was going to that auction, that bow would be coming home with me!
Good Shooting,
Craig
