This is my 1st posting and I have a weird question. Would it be possible to make a TD recurve with a 13" riser and 17" limbs that have a gentle curve along the whole limb?
I also have 27-28" draw. I know I'd have to use some type of release with it(if it works), but I wanna know what everyone thinks of the idea.
If you're talking 47" total length, which you'd really need like 20" limbs cause the limbs lay on the limb pad area if the riser for 3" or so, I think you could get away with that. I don't think release is necessary. If you're talking 41" total length, I think you might be pushing it. Search for one of tenbrooks one piece 43" recurves. IIRC Jess Stuart has done some really short takedowns also.
That would be a really short bow but it could be done and could be a real fun project. Do a build-along and share it with all of us. I certainly would like to see the finished bow with all the specs.

I still almost can't believe how much reflex is in that thing. Must be an absolute rocket launcher.
I need to build one like that. You're giving me the bug to do a nice takedown ... It's hunting season in 1 week so it will have to wait.

It's 8" above the grip
My 64" static recurves are all like that.
