So ready to get these out of the shop. the quality of the crappy glass now just takes completely away from the sheer beauty of the woods. Wish these werent streaky.

Beautiful
I'd be happy with them if they were mine. Maybe a little streaky though but that stuff happens sometimes
wouldn't worry me- as I was pre warned- the woods are beautiful, your workmanship does them justice- I would extremely happy with either set.
we all know this is a current dilemma for builders.
I wouldn't be able to hunt with either bow.
Well, I would, but I wouldn't kill anything. I'd be staring at those limbs.
The streaks don't seem really bad.
Dave.
thanks guys it turned out ok i guess. when its in the sun its really streaky
You do great work Shawn! beautiful wood. I recently received some glass that was not only streaky but had hair line fractures running lengthwise in the glass. I could not feel the break on the surface but when I flexed the glass edge to edge is was definitely faulty. Very frustrating...
I'm with you on the glass quality. I just glued up a set of ziricote limbs and it was so bad it looked like I'd pulled tinsel off the Christmas tree and laid it up between the glass and the veneers. It is disheartening to put so much work into a beautiful bow and have something totally outside of your control diminish the beauty of your work.
It must be the week for CRAP GLASS!
The thing that really aggravates me is, Why cant we see the streaks before? I have laid the glass on different colored backgrounds to check it before glue up and even wiped it down to wet it. Still get busted.
I would love to go Black or Brown from here on out. Some fine looking bows can be had with colored glass.
The run of streaky glass this year is terrible. My newer stuff doesn't seem to have it, and I just got some from mike at rosewood so in a week I'll see how it comes out. Eric (typical2) made a trio of streaky glass bows and same thing, underneath was beautiful. I had one great, dark veneer that it really showed up in bad. Ugh.
I agree with the clean simplicity of using colored glass. I just love wood too so much I can't help myself.
