I'm gluing wood overlays to a glass bow after having one pop off. What would work better, Gorilla brand 5 minute epoxy, gel super glue, or G2 epoxy? The G2 is about 4 years old, but it's all I have right now. I sanded the glass surface with 80 grit and I was thinking of wiping it down with acetone before gluing.

Epoxy usually blends better than super glue, easier to make it look clean. Probably wouldn't use the old stuff unless you want to do it again in a couple years. I'd wipe it down before gluing.
Two-part Epoxy components have a shelf life. One year is widely accepted as the limit for important bonds. Mix it for a true 60 -second minute and use a plastic, not wooden stirring tool. Wood, even light colored tooth picks, will transfer coloration that can take a while to appear. No matter what the "setting time" on the label, let it cure at least 24 hours.
The 5, 10, 15 minute epoxies arent what I deem 'bow quality'.I've had them come loose. I now only use Smooth On. G-2 is good stuff as well I hear, but since it is years old, I would order Smooth On and work on something else while I waited for it to arrive.
I use super-glue from Wally world. The tubes are black and in the housewares dept. 4 tubes for $1 and change. Have not had a problem with 30 plus bows, tip and riser overlays stay put.

THIS!! Had a back overlay come loose on a bow recently with "good" 5 min epoxy, never again....
Thanks guys. I found some 6 hr. cure marine epoxy today. Hopefully it will do the trick. I have good gel super glue that has always worked for me, but I'm not sure about wood to glass bonds with it.

Smooth On only for me.
I try to only use the smooth on these days, but I've found that for low stress wood to wood ( like an overlay on a wood bow that's purely aesthetic and isn't really contributing to riser stiffness) that 5min epoxy is ok. Would use it for anything structural, it's a lot easier to wait for smooth on to cure than to rebuild a failed bow.
