thought I'd like to share with all Tradgang one of my recent bows.......
I like in South East Asia and lucky to have access to really hard mature boo with node measuring 16 to 19".
I have made a few of these over recent years , The bow lay up is boo, hard maple core and hard Asian belly chengal (the chengal is only 1200 hardness, I feel not hard enough, thus I lost much reflex)
Glue up 5" reflex and after 300 shots, I has kept 1-2 inch reflex.
Its 58" n-n. 42lbs@24"
Hope you all find it interesting

Cool!
Is archery popular in Malaysia ?
That's awesome, Robin! I've been planning on trying the rope and wedge method of glue up lately. I'm curious about how you keep the rope from sliding down the limb when you wrap it to the tips, then begin wrapping it back in the other direction. I'm also curious about the wedges--whether they should be rounded on the end or flat. Do you think paracord would work for the rope? What do you use?
Very nice! I like your bow's profile.
Looking good, watch them toes. ;) Bue--.
X2 what takefive said
Nice- but when you are not satisfied with your belly wood why don`t ya use boo as well?
Hi Sam, How are you? I have been successfully grinding taper lams , thanks to you after watching your youtube video.
I have tried two types of string, cotton and nylon string. Cotton will prevent sliding a bit(but dont think that is bit) but they arent as strong as the nylon (same size) u should do a dry run and you will find that sliding is not much a problem.
Wedges, the sharp end need to be paper thin, like your riser fade out. This will help when u try to slide the wedge under the string...... sand down the belly of the boo wedges NOT the rind end.....
Sam, send you a PM/mail , please check......
MoeM....boo belly? have tried that, but when you have a boo belly, pre-tapering the lams must be very precise, or then you will have to remove materials from the boo belly. I find it very hard to change the tiller if i have a "hard " spot...
Thanks Robin! I'm going to give that a try.
Hey Sam, mind posting the lam grinding vid?
Great looking build Robin!
Thanks

AkDan...........thanks for the comment. ;)
I have Jaaps video that shows that method of binding instead of a form...very intreging to see someone use it! I'd like to get my hands on Tom's korean horn bow vid I believe its used in that one also. Looking forward to the finished bow! At this point I'm tiller dumb, LOL! close is about it ;) ! I'm hoping switching to a straight limb build will come out better.
Looking forward to seeing it in action!
AkDan, I think he's talking about this video:
