Just wondering what a good weight is for a 55# 64" rd longbow. The arrows im shooting now are only 7.4 GPI carbons, 500 spine with 125 grain tips... pretty light I would say??
The bow has very little hand shock but im thinking that a hievier arrow would reduce it further.
Sorry... the arrows are 27" long.
I'm not familiar with carbons but 10gpp is a standard weight for a hunting arrow so I'd go with 500gr to 600gr. That is what most of my hill cane and sourwood shoot arrows are.
If carbon is spine measured like wood arrows a 27" arrow would be 5# heavier in spine than the static spine reading would be on a standard 28" arrow with a 125gr point.
3 rivers is a good resource for arrow tuning .check there web sight out .if you don't see what you need there, give them a call.
