Title: Bow, arrows, and a quiver for my daughter
Post by: scrub-buster on May 30, 2014, 11:03:00 PM
My daughter outgrew the last bow I made for her so it was time for a new one.  Its Osage, 60" long and 30 lbs @ 24".  She doesn't draw it 24" yet but I made it with some room for her to grow.  Her school colors are orange and blue so I tried to work that into it as much as possible.  She helped out a little with it along the way.  I let her pick out everything on it.  She wanted a black rat snake skin and the leather she picked out for the handle was paper thin.  I rolled all of the edges just so I could stitch it.  I built up a leather shelf but after a few shots we decided that wasn't going to work.  I ripped it off and put a floppy rest on it.  It made a big improvement in her shooting.  The arrows are cane/bamboo with kool-aid dyed feathers.  The quiver is a bear leg that Pearly traded me last year.  She picked that out as well.  She likes to shoot bows quite a bit.  We are planning on going to the Cloverdale shoot in a couple of weeks.

Nothing better then a child with a smile on their face and a bow in their hand. That bow is high up the WOW scale.  :notworthy:

That is one fine looking outfit for your daughter.  I would have been in "hog heaven" with a bow like that at her age.  SWEET!
