Finally caught up the most necessary things, and Renee asked when can I build her another bow. So I started one to keep the peace.... :D
Pics of the beginnings soon...... :coffee:
Here is the core and lams, amberboo core, quilted maple (with a bit of curl) that is a bit darker than the usual white.
The dark lam (leftover from veneers)is sprayed with clear for approval rating. She likes it! :)

:campfire: will be watching this one.
Ready for some more pics :coffee:
Glad to see you building a bow! Looking forward to some great pics.
That quilted maple is stunning under clear glass- if you hit it with a little dye it really pops!!
Here is the plan for riser, the 2 maple pcs will be stood up and glued to phenolic...

All stuck together...

May be all I get this weekend, other stuff to do still!
Trux, I thought about dyeing it, but with the riser the same wood, figured I'd hate dyeing it after shaping. Guess I could dye the core all the way out too tho..
It is darker than most maple already, have to think on that!
Looking good
Looking Good, Kenny
Yay Kenny! That is some good looking maple, can't wait to see it all come together.
well Kenny nice to see ya making bows.
Glad you are getting some time to do what ya want , looking forward to seeing this bow finished .
Glad you didn't dye it. Blondes have more fun anyway.
Kenny.................
Now that you are out of the supply business......
where do you buy your glass/glue?
James
James, I kept a little stash, but I will go with Big Jim when I need more......

Looks great Kenny! I knew the maple would look perfect. Now you need to figure out a place for her to hunt. I know your spots are so limited.
Don't think she wants to hunt, but that's OK!
She should, someone needs to put the meat on the table in your house.. :)
