Ok everyone, here it is.
to quote Kenny "This is my contribution to their addiction"
Below you will find links to full size PDF files for the plans.
58/60" RD Longbow (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BznDzfB_4akuVHlXbW9nQWw0ME0/edit?usp=sharing)
62/64" RD Longbow (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BznDzfB_4akuQnFpSGduNXZwaU0/edit?usp=sharing)
Someone please test the links and make sure they are available publically.
All you need to do is basically e-mail the file to your local printing shop of choice and they should be able to print it out for about $10/plan
Ben, I keep getting this notice: "file is unavailable please reload"
I can see the images, but the notice comes up and I can't do anything with it.
Dave.
please try again with the 58/60, trying to get my settings right
Same thing happened. I wonder if it might be my infernal machine.
Dave.
seems to work for me, should be able to download or print through file menu.
I was able to download the files.
Thanks Ben.
Must be my computer. It's acting up.
Dave.
Thank you Ben and kenny for putting these plans up link works fine here. Quick question I know the riser would be different but could you use the lam section of the design to build takedown? Thanks again guys
I had to sign in to my google account but was able to download them.
Thanks Ben and Kenny for the info.
You're welcome guys, glad the bows are still going to be built, hope you get much pleasure from building and shooting them as I did in the R&D on em!
This PDF thing is all Ben's tho! I can make a passable bow, but computers leave me in the dust! LOL
I built a 64" TD 3 pc off the same shape, 16" riser, .003 total taper with tip wedge and power lam, just draw the 1 pc out full length and make the limbs on the TD match it... :D
It has taken one cow elk, think he told me it blew right thru her. I guess I never chronoed it, but seemed a little quicker than the one pc.
Probably just new bow syndrome tho!!
Hmmm. I was able to download the files but can only get a 1 page (8.5" X 11") size. It must be a simple fix. Anyone have some clues as to how I get it to full size.
might be able to scale it using adobe acrobat .... I'll look into it more this weekend. Work is killing me this week ... zero time
thank you kenny and ben for taking time and sharing those.
Thank you both. For those trying to download having problems, try using Google chrome to download.
I can't download it but thanks just the same Kenny.
Lou
Are you guys having trouble downloading the file using phones or ipads? If you are using a desktop or laptop with windows and a browser like Firefox or Google Chrome, just click on the link. When you get to the page, click file, scroll down to the download button and click it. Depending on how you have your browser set to work with viewing pdfs, you may get the option to open the file from there using your default pdf program. (I use pdf exchange editor as my viewer rather than adobe) Then you can save it wherever you want to store it. Both links appear to provide a full sized pattern. You can pm me if you need more help.
short of taking my laptop to the printers, how would i get the copy to them to print out a full size copy?
Copy the pdf file to a thumb drive or burn it to a cd. They should be able to print it from that. They might even have a way for you to email them the file. I would call them and ask them.
These things are beautiful just printed out! Kenny your my friggin hero! And, BTW if you do start up again someday, you can count on my business.
For those having trouble: Use Chrome, when you click the link you will see a preview. There will be a file menu on the upper left of the page. Click -> file -> download. Should get you going.
Best

Draffish says he is going to send me
the plans to my email.
Lou
I hope it works out for you Savage. The file sizes are pretty large for email.
Well, Mr. Draffish asked for my email but I have not heard from him in days.
I get a lil concerned, maybe I should not be handing out my email..
Lou
I got the template and plans for the 62/64" bow from Kenny when he first came out with it. I found I could build a super sweet 66" bow off of the same form. I should have got the 58/60 template from him.. anybody else build a 66" bow from the plans? I have built at least 7 at 66" and only 3 bows at 64". (http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt46/Robertfishes/66zebraunstrung.jpg) (http://s596.photobucket.com/user/Robertfishes/media/66zebraunstrung.jpg.html) (http://i596.photobucket.com/albums/tt46/Robertfishes/longbowmarch2013_zps28fa395f.jpg) (http://s596.photobucket.com/user/Robertfishes/media/longbowmarch2013_zps28fa395f.jpg.html)

O-tay-buckwheat.. :)
Kenny I think it is great that you shared this. I already had the plans from you. Is there a stack recipe somewhere that is available if I want to build bows of different weights?
The plans give some stacks for 64'' and 62''
They are on the 58 - 60" plans also.
Thanks fellas.

Amazing! I am looking forward to using my time of in between gigs to put together a bow for me and my girl friend. Thanks again Kenny.
These are awesome. Thanks Kenny!
Have anyone tried to convert the PDF to a vector based format? I want to have my next bowform laser cut. Or rather, have a template for the form laser cut ;)

Kenny just linked these to me. This is awesome stuff. Thanks Kenny and Ben.
I do have one question about these drawings. When I open them I am having a hard time figuring out what scale they should be printed at. 100% is far too small, and there is no scale marker on the drawing.
When I try to scale it up it get 12" from center to start of taper I end up at 130%, but then the measurement from the start of the taper to the nock does not add up.
What scale are you guys using to get it to the actual dimensions? I think this would be need to get a shop to print it.
I wonder if a scale could be added to the drawing to help aid with this?
Thanks a lot for the work put into this.
Dave
Archer, I was having the same problem. Taking stock of my tools at hand, this I what I did.
First, I printed Kenny's PDF. Then scanned it to a jpg at the highest RES my antique technology would allow (600 dpi). Next, into a photo editor and cropped each of the four main elements into separate jpg's. Then into my old school publishing software in the "banner" mode where size was adjusted by the scale in the software. Print and tape. Viola! Full size drawings.
Your scale is based on the listed size of the elements, eg., 18" riser, etc.
TTT for Jamman
Thanks guys! Just plotted then at work. I'll add then to my pile of template's lol
Links worked OK for me.
File seems to be about full size when I open it in Adobe Illustrator.
If you were to take the file to a local sign shop or anywhere with a large format printer - maybe even Staples - you could likely get a full size print for a template at a price that won't kill you.
I'm fortunate in this regard - I'm in the sign business and have 2 64in wide printer/plotters to play with.
FYI. To plot it at full scale you need to print it at 24"x42"

Yes the files should be full size. And yes they need to be printed on a large plotter in order to be the right scale.
Kenny/All,
What would I loose if I made a 58" bow off your 62"/ 64" form?
I have the plans for your 58"/60" but haven't made a form yet.
Thanks in advance
IMO you would lose enough reflex in the limb tips to make it a dog. Just opinion tho, never done it.
Also would lose preload of limbs at brace, which would make the bow tend to be noisy and vibrate. The string needs to be pretty tight after the shot goes off.
Thanks Kenny looks like I better start making a new form.
Kenny,
I know this thread is old, but do you have pics of a completed bow from this plan?
Thanks!
Should be some in here if you sort thru it... LOL
Most I have are with critters anymore and have been using a 3 pc TD with same geometry for a year or 2...
