It is a wood bow made up of three lams glued together. A belly lam, a core lam and a backing. It refers to an all wood, or natural material composite bow mostly.
I wouldn't confine it to such a narrow definition. For instance, why wouldn't a bow with an osage belly, osage core, and fiberglass backing be a tri-lam?
Cause I said so.. :)
I like "Sextuple-Lam" bows - belly of fiberglass, four wood or bamboo lams, and back of fiberlass. :laughing:
