Title: Kids bowstring

I'm nearly finished with 3 kids bows made with 1/4" red oak slats,what would be the best simple string I could get at the local stores?building themselves been a lot of fun,got the materials to start on my own next thanks to the info here on trad gang. Thanks

For what you would spend on three strings you can buy material to build a hundred.  Gotta make your own strings if your gonna make you own bows  ;)

spiderwire fishing line works good... almost no stretch. Masons string also works well. Do a flemish twist.

takes 15 minutes to make a string... and just as long to learn.  ya got time to make 3 bows....  and youre not going to find the right string at any local store... unless you live next to 3 rivers or lancaster.

oops double post.... shows you how slow my internet is.  it didn't seem to work the first time so i tried again and then got up and went outside.... took 35 minutes. lol

Thanks Ron for the offer I will keep that in mind,sounds like string making may be next on my agenda.
