Title: What kind of finish for bocote?

I just finish a TD longbow with a bocote riser.I usually use a polyurethane spray but will not dry.What kind of finish should I use?

Put a coat of shellac on it first then the poly will dry.

Sand it back down to virgin bare wood first!

Super glue will also work but smells much worse than the shellac.  use with plenty of ventilation

Yep, be sure and have good ventilation if you use super glue. It makes my eyes burn even when I go it outside and there isn't a breeze.

I just finished a longbow with a bacote riser about a month ago. I used super glue to seal it and that worked great. As others have stated, just be sure to have plenty of ventilation and fresh air available!!
