Title: CO Bowyers
Post by: Patrick A R on March 24, 2014, 06:32:00 PM
Hey all!

So I've recently gotten into bow crafting. The first bow I'm working on is a pyramid bow following a walk through I found on here from some years back. (Something I'm learning would be a lot easier with a bandsaw haha).

Are there any other bowyers in CO that care to help a new guy out with his technique? Maybe show a few other styles of bowmaking?

Thanks everyone!

Well Patrick, I'm a CO bowyer (reluctant to apply the term to myself since I'm mainly a duffer  :)  ).

I also have an interest in pyramid bows.  Most I have built have been kid bows but am now getting ready to build a new 2" form for glass lam pyramids.

But, on to your question, I'd be happy to help you out but hard to do in person since lately I'm working 11 to 12 hours a day five or six days a week.

There are plenty of non co bowyers here who will be happy to help too.  Nice thing about this inter web thing is a bowyer in Oz or Europe is just as close to you as I am!

What techniques are you wanting to improve on?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I've just started building my first bow so techniques I'll have to get questions on as I go along. Mostly I'm interested in learning about the other types of bows and how to make them i.e. styles, etc.

GentlemanArcher, I'm stationed at Fort Carson so I'm a bit of a drive south of you.
