I sanded my riser yesterday
at the tip/end of the fades on one side where it is paper thin it is wavey/ruffle on the last 3/16-1/4"this morning.
I don't have my camera to take a pic..
Fiber glass is going on both sides.
anybody had this happen to them?
Yep I had it happen before. If you got it adequately thin at the fadeouts, it will press flat during glue up. Don't worry about it.
I wouldn't worry about it. Once you place it into the form and add pressure it will lie flat. Probably just had some moisture in the wood still?
Not positive but shouldn't be an issue.

Since I use TiteBond, and it swells the wood because it's water based, this always happens at the very tips of the fades as soon as I apply glue (takes only a few seconds). It will press flat when gluing so not a problem.
If the wood is thin enough to get wavy like that, it is thin enough to flatten out under pressure.
You can do a dry run to confirm.
Wood was probably dry when grinding, and now has absorbed a bit of moisture. Not a big deal.
