Title: Tried an extra step during glue up
Post by: heartlandbowyer on February 16, 2014, 06:02:00 PM
I added an extra step to my riser glue-up, it takes a little more wood and time but it got rid of the action wood edge grain.    (http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o641/cengert74/IMG_20140216_132537_002_zps12a93080.jpg) (http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/cengert74/media/IMG_20140216_132537_002_zps12a93080.jpg.html)     (http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o641/cengert74/IMG_20140216_132657_429_zps923e0752.jpg) (http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/cengert74/media/IMG_20140216_132657_429_zps923e0752.jpg.html)   (http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o641/cengert74/IMG_20140216_132522_626_zpsddfb43cc.jpg) (http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/cengert74/media/IMG_20140216_132522_626_zpsddfb43cc.jpg.html)   (http://i1336.photobucket.com/albums/o641/cengert74/IMG_20140216_132837_400_zps57ec3ed0.jpg) (http://s1336.photobucket.com/user/cengert74/media/IMG_20140216_132837_400_zps57ec3ed0.jpg.html)

Looks great Cory!
I've never been a fan of edge grain action wood wood and that's a great way around it!

Great idea!...I never cared much for the edge grain look on the riser ends...nice way of fixing that.

Beautiful riser pattern, AC is not bad when you can hide the edge grain, you did a great job bringing out the best in it. The back is really pretty feathered like that.

Thanks guys, I will post a couple more pictures after I spray her.

Photobucket stinks I moved the pictures to a different album there and now I can't get the two missing pictures back.
