You guys probably thought I quit building or was dead. Instead, my builds are just going very slow. I glued this bow up about 1 year ago and just put a string on it today.
It is 64", 53# @ 28.
Clear ULS, bamboo veneers, actionboo cores with a .016 carbon strip, carbon tip wedges as well. All lams are unspliced, full length. East Indian rosewood riser with maple and bubinga points and osage overlays. Fiberglass tip overlays.
Big Jims epoxy finish (flat).
This is going to be donated to the PBS banquet in March.

Good lookin bow!
Wow .......nice!
Very nice.
Wow Brad! That is gorgeous!
Awesome. Love all the wood choices.
Very nice Brad. I really like the strung profile.
Too cool Brad- those pierce point are great. Someone's going to end up with a nice bow!
I almost forgot...here are a few pics to show the points come to life.

Another beautiful bow from Brad. I think we have come to expect no less. Great looking bow for a super organization. Bet it will generate a buzz at the convention.
WOW! I can't wait to see it up close. It looks like I better bring plenty of money to Cincinnati. I let the last one slip away, hopefully that won't happen again.

That is a great looking bow. I love everything about it.

Never seen pierce points in a longbow riser. Those are the best I've ever seen! It would take a year for me to build a bow like that! Beautiful bow! I have to say it again. Beautiful bow!
Sweet bow Brad!! We did think you had run off tho!! :D
Beautiful!
Awesome job on the pierce points! To be honest, I've never much cared for them until I saw yours. I really like it, makes me want to try it.
Great job! Love the profile. Have you found carbon to help in the mild rf/df design? I've been thinking of trying it on my bow, just curious. Well done
Thanks everyone...the carbon is the bearspaw coretuff product. Although I have not done really any testing for speed, I feel it helps with limb stability...plus the super thin, .016 thickness is nice to use for limb wedges and p lams.
Thanks Brad! Gonna have to try it.
Marvelous. Bue--.
Drop dead gorgeous!
I agree, that is the most tasteful use of pierce points that I have seen. How are they done?
Very nice!
truly a beautiful bow! Lovely lines and workmanship. Love the piece points too!
Very nice, something about the simplistic profile of a mild deflex reflex longbow that catches ones eye.
Pierce points look great too.

Beachbowhunter, if you do a search on here for pierce points buildalong you will find an old post of a 68" recurve. This was a long ago build and the first time I did the points..You will see a few shot of how the riser was assembled and that will show you how it is done.
To describe it in words, use a finger joint router bit to join two pieces of laminated riser wood length ways. Join the pieces with smooth on, and then when you cut into the riser you will expose the inner fingers. If you use alternating colors of wood on the laminated riser pieces prior to routing, the fingers will be highlighted and clearly seen.
Well done Brad!

Sweet! A lot of details there. Nice looking bow Brad!
Here I am admiring your bow again and just noticed how you hid the pierce points on the belly side of the riser. I really like that. Have never been crazy about how they looked there. Love this bow!
Gorgeous and dare I say sexy!
Great job Brad, I'm really liking that wood combo! And for the points, they are awesome!
Very nice riser looks great.
Awesome looking bow!!!
Nice as always Brad!
Illinois? New Jersey?
Did you move Brad?
Yes indeed, I moved to NJ back in July for a couple years for work.
Very nice, Brad! Love the strung profile.

x2--what taper are you using and width at the fade?
really sweet!
Brad it was good to talk to you the other day Bud. Man I'm glad your back on here and set up at the new place. Your bows have always been simply stunning.
Another piece of eye candy
Thanks guys.
The width at the fades is 1.125 and the taper rate is .003. This design is based on the bingham mild R/D bow, however I added just a tad more deflex (very little maybe 3/8") and about 1.5" more of reflex in the form.
I also trap back to belly.
Beautiful! That's very much along the shape of what I want to make.
