Few shots here of a bow I've just made with the riser wood salvaged from a campfire wood pile.Riser is black wattle [salvaged] and some species of acacia with natural 'boo accents.

Good save! That's pretty.
You won't be burning that bow- I like the looks of it!
Atta boy Bob!
Very nice! Good work.
thanks Sam, Trux, Thad and Pheonix, always good to make something useful out of others discards!
Looking Good. Bue--. :)
very very pretty!
that black wattle sure does make good firewood though!!!
I guess it's ok:)
Great work Bob. I really think you are making some of the finest straight limb longbows around. Haven't seen even one you've made that I didn't really enjoy.
Which of the woods is the black wattle? The dark center stripe? or the lighter colored pieces?
Really nice bow Bob. I love making stuff from leftovers.
Sweet bow bob.
Very nice - I really like the color combo and the contrast with limbs.
stunning and classy looking bud
thanks so much Gentlemen, it means so much from you guys here!. Little Ben the black wattle is the two outer pieces on the riser. The center piece is some obscure piece of Acacia with a name like Doolalia[ which I cant find reference to] Black Wattle is also a species of acacia of which Australia has over 900 species!
Even the wood from your burn pile is gorgeous!
With all those different species it must be fun buying wood down under.
That's a beautiful bow bigbob.
Dave.
Great looking bow, Bob! :archer:
Very nice Bob! :clapper:
Dave where possible I utilize wind fall wood or salvage where possible. Still have to buy plenty though. Thanks gents.
