I'm wondering if anyone here has any "stats" on the weight reduction effect of reducing limb length at the tips on a Bingham style flat long bow? I have done some at less than 68", but did it right off without weighing in at the original 68".
Any suggestions welcome here!
It"s been a long time ago.
I think it was 5 to 8 pounds for each 2'inches, 1 inch off each end.
If you reduce the length it will increase draw weight.

Yes. That was what I'm after, what Mac said. I plan to revert the weight increase number into a decrease in the stack in order to hit a desired weight at 66". Bow for grandson who I'm hoping will be able to use the bow as he grows older and is able to draw longer and heavier. Thinking to end the bow up at about 45# at 28".
Probably would have helped to provide that info from the start :o
So far, it looks like I should build with a stack for an approx 40# bow at 68" and should land at about 45# at 66"?
