Title: question about shelf cutting

o.k.i have cut a few shelfs and really like shooting this way..BUT,i cut one today and cut it to far across the handle..NOW,it does some cracking..SO,is there any ideas on how to fix this..the handle is 4 1/2 inches..so any help would be great..thanks john

Guessing this is a all wood bow. I would not pull it while it is creaking,  some overlays on the back might strengthen it enough.

ron,you are a smart man..yes,all wood bow...RON,i am lost on what you are saying are you meaning add a peice of wood over the handle area on the back...thanks john

Yes if you have room and enough flat area. A strip of any wood with good tension like hickory could be,glued on then shaped into the back of the handle.
As much as 1/8 inch thick in the problem area.
