Made some self bows over the last few years but haven't done a glue up since 2007 I think. Not too bad. Made mostly from scrap pieces I've had lying around for a decade or so. Bamboo back, 1/16 maple mid lam (scrap from making skateboards), pre tapered osage core(because I barely squeaked a core outa the chunk), maple and walnut everything else. Aside from the maple I made all the boards from raw wood I cut myself. Glue lines are kinda crappy, but I'm rusty.

Don`t look like you are rusty to me. Bue--. ;)
That is a sweet bow!
If thats rusty I'de hate to see your bows in tip top shape. That looks freaking sweet to me.
Thanks guys!
Really like the riser design.
Nice looking bow I really like the riser.
Stunning to say the least. Defiantly not rusty.
Very nice. I'd say you remembered how to do it quite well.
Like the whole look of it very, nice indeed.
Very classy!

Darn nice!!
That is very nice.
Looks terrific to me. Nice work!
Beautiful work!
Sweet thing and as long I don`t get a closer look at your gluelines I don`t know what shall be wrong with it... really nice!
Wow, thanks guys! Can't remember the last time I got this much feed back on anything. Really I was just glad the bow worked out. The grain in the core goes wild with swirls just as it reaches the handle and was full of tears in the grain from the jointer. I had to do 3" longer handle lams than I normally do and left it stiffer in the fades than I normally do. There was also a drying check in the core mid limb that ended up on the edge of the limb during tillering. I tillered the bow with out a patch but wrapped the spot with sinew after I was done. That's what the little leather wrap mid limb is covering and the other limb has one too just for symmetry.
id say you still got it
Looks like a thumper to me. Well done.
very nice
Scraps huh? Tell me what kind of scraps you need That is looking good from here.
These days I see a lot of bows with wide, thin limbs and big risers. This bow is a refreshing change with the narrow, thick limbs. Reminds me of longbows from very long ago. Longbow nostalgia. I love it!
Thanks guys. And thanks Bodork. My laminate bows are deffinitely inspired by my selfbows which are also very narrow.
bump for a beautiful bow!
