I made this from a broken branch on our backyard tree and backed it with cherry bark. It's 63" NTN and 25# @ 24". The tip overlays are red elm. Glueing the bark on wasn't the chore that I thought it would be and I plan on making one for myself someday.

that is cool- lucky girl!!!!
Cool bow for your daughter. I've made a few cherry bark backed bows and hope to do it again soon.
Oh I guess it's ok:)
Well ok it is ok:)
How about it's awesome....
Nice.
Wow! Very nice. I'm sure she's a happy gal.
Very nice bow - gonna have to try some bark backing. Bet your daughter is happy!
Thanks much guys! I got some really good tips for glueing the bark on from one of your bows of a few years ago, Pat. Thanks again.
Now that is awesome!
Did you use the foam strip backers?
Try making one with the lichens and mosses still attached. It looks great and makes a cool looking camo pattern.
No, I didn't have anything like that handy, Pat. I wound up wrapping it with a couple of Ace bandages and a couple of dowels against the belly to keep it taut. I used Titebond 3. I'm going to be so torn between leaving the bark natural and steel wooling it to get that bronze color. Maybe I'll make one of each. :)
That's really beautiful. I love the bark. Really awesome bow.
That is a great looking bow!
Beautiful
Thanks again for the compliments! It means a lot to me coming from you guys.
