So my brother and I hunted this evening in Morgan Co, IN. I was down by the highway thinking some deer might come from the south which would be perfect for the south wind. A couple does followed the script and got to 30 yards but the wind decided the script was wrong and shifted to the southwest right to the does. They hung around for a bit trying to figure things out but were too nervous to move in any closer and eventually ambled off. Abut 30 minutes later, I see some fool in an orange hat and headlamp walking towards my trail. I quickly figured out it was Mike and that could mean only one thing, DEER DOWN.
He had shot a large bodied 6 point and watched him go down 60 yards from his stand. We got to the deer and he was really big for a 6 point. We figured him to be an older buck.

He shot him with a 60's era Ben Pearson takedown I got off Craigslist a couple years ago and refinished for him. The bow is 48# at 28" but Mike draws closer to 30". He hit him through both lungs and stuck the arrow in the ground. He was shooting carbons with Ribtek 190's on them.
We got the buck home and had him boned out in time to watch the Colts game. Unfortunately, they might tarnish this otherwise awesome weekend.

Congrats on a fine buck! Sounds like a perfect shot - very nice.
Super....hardly know you're brothers looking at the pictures

Congrats
Congrats to your brother, John.
Sorry guys, put this in the wrong place. But I guess I sorta "remade" the bow :) .
I understand, John.. I'm losing my mind too...
I don't blame you putting it up over here. I prefer the smaller community of the bowyers bench and try to keep myself off the pow wow too much ...,
:bigsmyl:
Nice bow-glad it was put to good use- is that enough about the bow? :D Great job on the buck.
Looks like it will make a lot of meat.
Congratulations :notworthy:
Mike
Great job, brothers!
Awesome.
