I'm getting ready to build my hot box and have a couple of wiring questions for you guys. Bingham's plans recommend wiring in parallel. Do most of you use a junction box, or do you just tie everything together at the switch box?
Also, as far as wiring, they recommend 14 gauge, but don't say anything about hi-temp. Can I use regular old 14 gauge insulated wire, or do I need to get something rated for high temp?
Thanks...
Run the white and black ac wire to the first bulb, then the second, then the third, etc. At the switch just cut the black wire and put those two ends across the switch terminals. Run the white wire outside of the switch box. Regular ac wire is fine.

Thanks, Roy!
EHK,
Normal romex is rated to operate within the heat box temps typically used on trad gang...however it does approach the limits. It would be terrible to have a short or worse fire during glue up! I would simply use some scrap wood and create a channel around the wire to protect it. (on my hot box I simply laid a piece of scrap wood on either side of the wire & then one on top)
I used shallow boxes--and run the wire outside the hot box
I ran mine outside the box as well.
WHEW!! For a second there I thought Roy was cookin' a glass bow :biglaugh:
Thanks for all the ideas guys!
Eric
