Title: Bowhandle Question
Post by: Duncan on September 12, 2013, 09:58:00 PM
I have a Kustom King Black Forest longbow that the handle is somewhat uncomfortable in the heal of my palm. Would I be asking for trouble if I flattened the palm a little bit? I can deal with a palm swell on the sides of a handle but not in the belly side of the handle which is where I want to remove it. We're talking maybe 1/4" just on the belly side of the handle.

They don't look to have the beefiest handle but a small adjustment should be fine. Call custom king and see if you can get some advice from their experts. it's one of their bows so they may be able to put you in contact with the designer.

You will almost certainly void the 30 year warranty by adjusting the handle.

Shouldn't weaken it really. The weakest point is always the throat of the grip or the sight window.

Thanks for the replies. I don't plan to touch the throat or rest area so I'm goin' for it.

Before

After

You can see that small hump is taken down. Could not believe I was able to reuse that bow saddle after the finish was applied.
