When flipping tips what do you guys use? Steam or heat gun? Also how do you know how far down the limbs to go and how much "flip" to use? Want to try this on my next bow which i will start this weekend. Hopefully...........

On osage selfbows. Heat gun. 6". I have several forms with different degrees of flip.
All depends on what I want the bow to look like... sometimes I just bend the last few inches, other times I bend 1/3 - 1/2 of the limb. Dry heat for dry wood. (Heat gun). Wet heat for wet wood.(steam or boil).

Well here's to steriods. 1:52 a.m. and I just left the shop. I will be a grizzly bear in the morning or today seeing as how it is morning.
