I've been out of the bow making for a while. I got a temporary shop set up and here's my latest. I'm just getting this one started but I'm excited about it. The riser is Bastogue Walnut with Bubinga and Ebony accent stripes. The riser is 15" long, limbs are Actionboo from KennyM, with myrtle burl veneers from IdahoCurt. I'll put antler on the front of the riser and on the limb tips. bow will be 60"AMO, and target weight around 30 @ 25".

Very sharp!
That's going to look sharp- I like those antler knobs you've got there.
I love the wood combos, the myrtle burl is very attractive. gonna be a beauty!
That myrtle is going to look awesome, it is one of my favorite veneers to use.

Can't wait to see that one finished.

Beautiful bow! Looks a lot like a Morrison Cheyenne. I really like the wood choices and antler overlay.

Tony, I think that one is gonna be killer!! SWEET!
Damn those colors and antler apps make it really look like a hunter... love it!
I'm putting the finish coats of poly on the riser tonight, I'll post more pics tomorrow. Thanks for the comments!! Tony
Anxious to see it "under paint". Good looking bow! :clapper:
I have a big oiece of antler waiting to be used similar- but I wonder how you make those bolts/knobs,
can you say something about them plz?
Hey MoeM- here's a link to a great antler bolt build along-

MoeM, that link is basically the way that I do them. Tony
Thanks guys, doesn`t seem to be difficult...
But I`ll need to fit it to dished boltheads for dished brass pressureplate inserts- but my neighbour is well equipped for all sorts of metalworks^^
Tony, I can`t wait to see your bow finished...
Finished tillering yesterday and checked the poundage today. Man did I miss my target weight!! 50 @ 28". I know what happened though, target weight was 30-35# @ 26", I came up with a stack of .235 for a 64" recurve. This bow is only 60". I believe the 4" shorter is were I didn't consider. No problem! I need another bow anyway. haven't shot it yet, but it turned out purty nice. Tony

Man that came out nice... Too bad on having to keep it- I'm sure you'll get some volunteers to take it off your hand.
Exceptional work!
Love it, very nice indeed!
Well Done she's a beauty!!!
Awesome! But why didn`t you mount the antlerknobs?
Those are a little big for this bow, I'll get some that's around 1.5-1.75". Done have any at the moment. Thanks everyone for your comments. Tony
I'd love to see a how to on the antler riser overlay. Are you cutting them thin and bending to fit or are you cutting them from the antler with the radius of the riser and sanding to fit? The bow is awesome BTW! Thanks.
Bonner
Dan, I cut them to fit the front profile and then sand to fit, They want bend very much. Thanks Tony
oh man that is eye candy well done :clapper: :clapper:
I checked the draw weight again today on a more accurate scale, 46# @ 28". Would someone care to suggest a stack thickness for a 30-35#, 60" recurve, 15" riser? Thanks everyone!! Tony
That's a looker for sure.
-Jay
Well I shot it through a chronograph today, a 5 shot average, 188fps with 532g arrow. I'm very satisfied!! Tony
