Title: Dynamic spine calculations
Post by: longbow fanatic 1 on July 09, 2013, 07:12:00 PM
Can anyone tell me what my dynamic spine is for my two bows? Stu's calculator doesn't list my bows.

1. Dwyer Defiant- 49@28 drawn to 29+" (#52)

2. Super D-45@28, drawn to 29+" (#48)

*** Both bows have bamboo cores***

More likely than not, the list of factory bows in Stu's calculator probably just uses the data from one of the 'generic' bows and then has preset information on the centershot.

Just measure the centershot and select the appropriate 'generic' bow type. The calculator is just a starting point anyway.

The best way to tune arrows to a bow is to get a couple different spine weights for the bows draw  weight at your draw length. Get a few 50 pound and a few 45 pound spine arrows. Leave them full length or buy them about 3 inches longer than what you want. Then shoot them, if they act weak then cut a half inch off and shoot again. Keep doing that till they fly nice. Every bow and shooters form will be different. You got to start somewhere and go from there.
