Title: connexion hinge on saluki grandeur??
Post by: delongbows on July 08, 2013, 12:17:00 PM
My go to bow is a saluki grandeur deluxe and I was kicking around the idea of installing a connexion hinge to make it more portable. I have installed them on glass laminate bows before and have has good results thus far, but I am a little concerned about doing an all wood bow. Has anyone gone down this path before and had good results? I would appreciate any and all advice or suggestions. I am very attached to this bow and would hate to run the risk of damage, however, with the hinge installed this bow will be perfect in my mind. Any thoughts????
Thanks,
Dave

They are no longer made. I tried to get some made by a machinist friend but it would have been very costly. I did find one for sale but decided against using it due to the limited supply. I too feel they are a perfect take-down device. If I am ever able to have them made I'm sure there are plenty of bowyers  interested.

I already have the hinges, no problem there. I'm just wanting to know if its a good idea on an all wood bow?
Thanks,
Dave
