Thanks, Sam. More great info shared with the rest of us!!
thanks Sam...you are fearless!
Bob
Your website is a treasure trove for beginners, and now for advanced bowyers. Thanks.
That is a terrific bow and an amazing build along. I just book marked it in hopes of getting back to it someday when I have the skills to give it a try. Thanks for posting it!
Nice build along! You really take the fear outta bow building for someone like me who hasn't done it before!
Sweet bow!
I like the looks of them - thanks for sharing.
Whoa Sam Harper, I love you HP- learned a lot there and didn`t know you`re here too.
Thanks a lot man!!
I love you, too, Moe. What does HP mean?
Goddamit meant YOUR for sure^^ (but your cat`s cute :D )
HP`s posed to mean HomePage... vintage name for website- maybe some of the olders will remember...
Anyway I can`t remember how often I referred to your BBI BA on preperaring boo and the need of plams you saved me quite a lot of time describing the work in words or writing :clapper:
(I hope I`ll be someday able to tiller such bows myself :( )
LMAO:) Way to go Moe..
HAHA thats hilarious. Sam, what's the brace height on this?
Also what type of front profile are you using? pyrimidal? or is it straight for a portion of the limb? Thats alot of recurve, any stability issues?
Good build long, Sam. Thanks for posting it here.
I'd bet with different belly material you could get the speed up some but this bow seems to shoot just fine.

The limbs are straight until the last 8" when it tapers to the tip. There are no stability issues.

I think you are probably right. Less deflex would help, too. It's almost strung even before I string it, so there's not a lot of tension in the early part of the draw. I will probably make another form at some point because these are fun to do. I'll probably make the next one a little shorter, too.
Awesome build along as usual. Nice looking profile too.
I'm very interested to see phase two of this ... less deflex etc. as mentioned.
Very neat. I have a blank for a form I was going to cut out for a hybrid R/D design, but this is really tempting.
I figured out today why my bow had too much deflex. It's because I was using a 2x8 instead of a 2x6 like I did with my first two recurves. I had 2 inches more deflex with this one than the original two.
Thanks Sam. Looking foward to trying to make one myself.
