I just finished my first laminated r/d longbow. I really want to thank everyone here for all the knowledge you share. I've been a ghost mostly on the forum, but there's seldom been a problem I've encountered that wasn't already addressed. I'd especially like to thank Tenbrook, a year ago I built my first bow (BBI) in his shop and I haven't looked back!
The bow's a 64" Bingham style r/d longbow. Clear fiberglass over birdseye maple back and lacewood belly. There's some ebony, padauk, machache, and wild dilly thrown in along the way.
It's been curing for 72 hours and I strung it for some pics for my father, fitting as I made it for him and it's finished on Father's Day.
Well, it's time to get to work on my brother's bow now. Again, thank you all so much!
*Hopefully these pics will show right

Welcome to Trad Gang and the Bowyer's Bench.
Congrats on completing your first laminated bow.
Now let's see those pics!!!!!! Sounds like some wild wood combinations.
Very nice! But the thumbnotch seems to be on the wrong side!?
Anyway a great start!!!
Very nice, congrats.
The thumb notch isn't very deep on that side. He was visiting while I was shaping that out so we brought it in a little more on the finger side for how he felt it was comfortable.
Well done! That's a great looking bow, I like the color scheme.
Nice! I see you used an I-beam and added a swoop in the riser, should be pretty strong.
Pretty bow, Reid. Well done. I know your dad will love it.
Nice job!!
My first didn't look quite that good! Well, maybe not even close! :D
