Title: bamboo backed actionwood? Anybody try it?
Post by: Zradix on June 04, 2013, 12:30:00 PM
Just curious if anyone has tried a boo backed actionwood bow.

It's kinda hard to find thick a-boo...you could glue pcs together I suppose.

But the actionwood is made in thick sheets.
you'd have to z splice it...
Nice straight "grain"

Just curious..

That would be interesting. I heard of guys that had made a all laminated bamboo bow including riser. Would imagine it to be light and fairly quick. Not sure of hand shock as no wood to absorb the shock   Would love to see a laminated action wood  boo bow

LOL!

my funds are depleted my friend.

The thought gets my curiosity...but lacks in the "natural" feeling dept.

If I had some extra $$$ laying around I'd try it.
If the birch ... and the glue..will stand up under compression it might be a tough bow. Probably not all that fast...but who knows...
