Title: Tip overlays on old bow
Post by: critman on June 01, 2013, 10:44:00 PM
I have an Indian Seneca recurve that I was thinking of putting tip overlays on to spruce it up and possibly go with a FF string. Is this a bad idea? If it's a possibility would you simply clean and sand the fiberglass and epoxy the tips on just like I do on my selfbows? Again, if ya'll think or know this is a bad idea PLEASE let me know. Thanks for advice in advance

I'm very interested as well. I've got an older York recurve with hardwood tip overlays and I was thinking of redoing them. Is anything special needed for ff compatibility?

I use 8125 on all my wood bows but never on a glass bow and I heard older bows ff is a no no.

Go for it. Use GOOD superglue or the overlays. Ben you dont need to change anything. Make a 10-12 strand string for your York and shoot it.
