Title: Is this a good start?

I have tried 2 bows, and now looking to break my 3rd.  Does this plan look good and simple?  I might back my next one with Bo-Tuff.   :)

Thats interesting.

However if you've broken two already, I think youd be better served by a more thorough tutorial liek you'll find here. It will give you more informraiton on tillering etc.

That's good advice from Roy.  I followed that build along for my first successful bow, using hickory instead of red oak.   Neat link that you posted and that is some good info on the flat limbs, tho you'd have to adjust the width for the type of wood you use.  "A lemonwood stave will cost about one dollar"...those must have been the days :-)

Thanks guys.  I will check into that link ight now!!!!!

Yes and in those days we were not bombarded by 1,000 TV channels, answering emails or texting.  We had 40 hour workweeks.  I miss the quiet.(it's my own fault though.)

I will be looking for some good hickory.  Red oak 1x 2 planks were what I first used.  The 2nd bow was sanded down too far and thin.
