I have seen a couple posts that guys talk about using these. Does anyone have any good reccomendations or experience?
Whats ya mean by tillering blocks?
I think you are talking about the ones that fit on the tips that are used to find dynanmic center before the limbs are tapered? I guess some swear by them. I used to use them. Not anymore. I find a good center line and work off it. Shoot the bow during tiller process until the string lands dead center every time. On a curve you want dead center before any belly grooves are filed.
Yes, Crooked, the ones I am referring to are the "blocks" that are used to find the center of a limbe before it is profiled.
You mean this (http://flecomedia.de/view_item.php?item=33B74DO88YSS&type=photos&collection=97) this gizmo?
Sorry Moe, I am looking for something that fits over the end of a laminated limb tip so the bow can be strung before it has string grooves.
Try a search on you tube.

Is this what you are looking for? I had mine turned from steel. I have seen pics of three or four washers glued together with epoxy and then a slot was cut. Bue--.
Aaah K you mean an adjustable tillerstring with pockets instead of a flemish ear and a bowyers knot.
Bingo! That is what I am talking about. For those who use them, how do you like them?
Just follow the lateral grain which runs tip to tip. You can see it. Draw the line down the middle. With a band sawed stave using a jig won't let you follow the grain lines. MOre on my site. jawge
