Not sure if this picture thing is going to work. This is my second board bow and I would like to get some feedback on tillering. Right now I'm bending to 6-7inches. Not so much concerned about the final weight of the bow as I really just want to get one to completion first.

ok, this is it.
First off, I highly suggest doing away with the extra long tillering string. File in your string grooves and put a regular string on it, those extra long strings lie. When you first string the bow, have the string laying tight against the belly of the bow. A shorter string will put more stress on the outer third of the limbs and give you a better idea of how the limbs are bending. But the tiller doesn't look bad so far. How long is that bow?

Good advice from Roy - the ole boy seems to know what he is talking about - has helped me out several times.
Is it a pyramid or parallel limb bow? Some specs on length, width, etc. would be helpful. As Roy said, it looks like it is starting to bend just fine.
All the bending seems to be happening at the handle area. I'd get mid limb on to the tips moving on both limbs before stringing. Info on my site. Jawge

You should floor tiller it first to a point where the limbs are bending nicely along their length.
"step on the ball" there right rudder. Sounds familiar.
I'm new to bowmaking too. Also just finishing up my second board bow.
Outer 2/3 is stiffer to my eye too. Good point about the shorter string, I had a gut feeling the long strings were deceiving too, glad Roy spelled it out for us. I file nocks very early on and made a long 18 strand flemish string with a loop on one, timber hitch (bowyers knot) on the other. Fit any bow length or strength I'll make.
Not many people get that. Gotta stay lined up! Thanks for the input guys. This is a red oak board from Lowes, 64" pyramid style. I have kept the limbs on the wide side for strength. 2" at the fades to 1 3/4" out to within 8" of the tips. Should end up with 62" ntn. All seems to be going well I just wanted a few more eyes.
